Adobe Express is too slow to work with

This app is too slow, when creating a slideshow, after 10 slides, every movement or type takes around 2 seconds to catch up. when moving images they move around the screen for 10-20 seconds to the wrong position. It needs to be faster, i expect the image to move with my mouse, and i expect the typing to show up as i type it. maybe a Google docs style, local editing, then uploaded to the cloud strategy might work, instead of working off the cloud.

It is insufferable, please, please fix this issue.

Did these suggestions help? I am similarly having issues where its virtually impossible to use the program because of lag and atrocious speeds.

    sadly not… classic adobe

I found that if you just reload the page every time it gets laggy, it makes it a bit better

Hi @Jamie5F91 and @BSPN450! Thanks both for chiming in here. I completely understand how frustrating this kind of lag can be, especially when it starts interrupting basic actions like typing or moving elements.

This isn’t the experience we want you to have with Express.

A couple of quick things that would really help us narrow this down:

    • Does the slowdown happen only with larger/slideshow projects, or even on smaller designs?
    • Which browser + OS are you currently using?
    • Roughly how many slides/elements are in the project when the lag starts?

Jamie, I appreciate you sharing the reload workaround, though I realize that’s far from ideal.

In the meantime, a few things that have helped in similar cases:

    • Trying a different browser (Chrome tends to perform best)
    • Closing other heavy tabs/apps running in the background
    • Testing in an incognito/private window (to rule out extensions)

The product team is working on performance improvements, and reports like yours are really helpful in identifying where things break down in real workflows. If you’re open to it, I can also help escalate this with your specific setup details (and a link to a copy of the project w/access rights, which you can send via DM) so the team can take a closer look.

Thanks again! We want Express to be a tool that CAN keep up with you.

Hi @Jamie5F91,  Thanks for sharing your experience, this definitely isn’t the kind of performance we want you to have.

Could you please confirm if you’re still experiencing this issue? It would also help if you could share:

    • The browser you’re using and its version with the device OS version

    • Whether this happens across all project types (video, post, webpage), or only with slideshow projects

In the meantime, we recommend trying the following:

    • Open Adobe Express in a private/incognito window

    • Switch to a different stable internet connection

    • Ensure you’re not using a VPN or behind a strict firewall, as these can sometimes affect performance

Do share your observations, we are here to help!

    Best!
