Adobe Express stops saving after leaving photo grid upload screen before images finish syncing
Adobe Express photo grid sync/save failure: When creating a photo grid, if I select multiple images and click Save or leave the grid upload screen before every image has fully synced into its grid cell, Adobe Express gives the appearance that the project has saved. However, from that moment forward, the project no longer saves correctly. The cloud sync icon continues indefinitely, and later work is lost. The workaround is to wait until every image finishes loading into its grid spot before leaving the grid screen. If the issue has already started, the user must refresh and return to the last valid save.
Issue: Adobe Express stops saving when leaving photo grid upload screen before images finish syncing
Product: Adobe Express (Web)
Platform: Chrome latest version on Windows
Steps:
-
Open an Adobe Express web page project.
-
Create or edit a photo grid.
-
Select multiple images to add to the grid.
-
Before every image has fully loaded/synced into its grid spot, click Save to leave the photo grid upload/placement screen.
-
Continue editing the project.
-
Watch the cloud sync/save icon. It remains stuck and does not complete.
-
Refresh or reopen the project.
Expected: Adobe Express should either wait until all selected photo grid images have fully loaded before allowing the user to save/exit, or it should clearly warn the user that the images have not finished syncing. Once the user clicks Save, the project should continue saving normally.
Actual: Adobe Express gives the appearance that the project has saved, but if the user leaves the photo grid upload/placement screen before every image has fully loaded into its grid spot, the project stops saving from that point forward. The cloud sync icon continues indefinitely, and any additional work after that point can be lost. The only workaround I found is to refresh the page and resume from the last version that saved properly, which may be much earlier than the user realizes.
Additional detail: The problem seems tied to the small spinning wheel/loading icon that appears over each image in the photo grid while it is still loading or syncing. Users need to wait until that spinner disappears from every image before leaving the photo grid screen. However, Adobe Express still allows the user to click Save before that happens and gives every appearance that the project has saved successfully.

Impact: This caused significant work loss because I continued editing after the Save button appeared to work, not realizing that the project was no longer saving correctly.
