Adobe Express Web App Constantly Crashing

The Adobe Express web app crashes constantly; the app is unusable. It crashes every single time I open anything or try to use this web app. Very frustrated as I would like to use the very simple video editing capabilities and our organization pays for the entire CC suite. I have started using Canva as an alternative, which has never crashed on me.

  • Here's what happens:
    • I open the web app in Chrome or Edge on Windows computer managed by my organization
    • I don't do anything (just stay on homepage. no clicks, no open project, just wait)
    • It crashes. Always.

  • It crashes with both Chrome and Edge and in regular and incognito windows
    • Chrome is up to date: Version 140.0.7339.208 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Microsoft Edge is up to date: Version 140.0.3485.81 (Official build) (64-bit)
    • Recently cleared cache and cookies and it still happens

  • No error message - browser just closes when the web app is open

I agree. I haven't been able to finish my business cards and now am opening up photoshop (not web version) to finish. The backgrounds keep telling me to "reload image" and I can't because they are sourced from adobe image. I also can't even use the file I just downloaded as the background because it's giving me a red triangle error. I'm using chrome that is at the latest update. Not using a vpn or anything out of the ordinary. It was working fine and then basically has stopped.

Hi @JenKain, @Heather2714551186su

Thanks for sharing these details! We’ve forwarded your reports to our engineering team for further investigation. Could you please help by sharing:

  • When exactly does the crash occur (right after loading or after a few seconds)?

  • Are you signed in with a personal or organizational account?

  • Is hardware acceleration on or off in your browser settings?

  • Does it also happen in Firefox?

If possible, please attach a short screen recording of the crash — you can also share the file link via DM with me, which will help our team identify the issue faster.

Thanks for your patience!

Hello.
I do have an update for you. I tried using DuckDuckGo web browser and had
no issues. I don't use Firefox. It's a personal account that it's having
issues with.
I don't know what hardware acceleration is, so I'm guessing it's at
whatever Chrome's default settings are for that.

I tried logging into adobe express again with Chrome is that I couldn't
even get my files to load. It was just a white screen.

Hope that helps.

Hello Tarun -  Most of the time I work in the office and use a cable to connect the laptop to the network, but I do use a VPN when I am remote - either way, the browser crashes.

I did experiment by logging into Adobe Express in Chrome without the VPN or being connected to the network and it still crashed in the browser within a few minutes. I also logged in to Adobe Express on my personal cell phone Chrome browser and it did not crash, but I believe mobile browsers are less vulnerable to crashing. I didn't try the mobile app, but that my be what I have to do if I need to use Adobe Express.

I would like to point out that Canva does not crash ever in my browser.

Hi @Heather2714551186su,

Welcome to the community! We're sorry to hear about this. Are you on VPN? Because a restricted internet connection, potentially due to a VPN or network firewall, can disrupt the app's performance. Please try updating your browser, closing unnecessary tabs, disabling browser extensions, checking your internet connection.

Let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Tarun
