Ai images spamming created images

This is really driving me nuts. I have to be quick about creating images otherwise Ai images fill what I'm working on, taking over the weirdest aspects of it. I've attached here an example. Where you see the weird Ai images should be arrows that were placed there. I closed the image and came back to it, only to find that Ai images were spamming the space. This has been going on for months. When I do searches for "Media" and choose and image that fits what I'm looking for, it will show up inside my workspace as one of these wonky Ai images, not the image I selected. Seriously, please fix this. This issue makes PicMonkey much more appealing.
