auto resize of files

Hello. When I open some files to make copies of them, I notice that they have been automatically resized by the program. I include the size of the image in the file name and they don't always match up. Why does this happen?

Were these files created in the previous version? How much are they off by: could you share an example of the sizes before, or after?
