Bolding Style Issue when Exporting to PDF

We've seen an issue when we export a design from Express as a PDF. If we style certain text in a text box to be bold, the PDF export bolds all text after that selected bolded text (in addition to the bolded text). This appears to only happen with PDF exports. When we export as a JPEG or PNG, it only bolds the selected text as expected.

I’m also having issues downloading files I’ve created in Adobe Express as PDFs.  (PNG and JPG downloads are fine.)

Yesterday the download to PDF wasn’t working at all, so after following various online articles/ help I’ve this morning:

  1. Updated Chrome
  2. Checked both Adobe and Adobe Express are fully updated, which they are
  3. Cleared my browsing cache
  4. Removed images from the original templates that may have been causing slow downloads
  5. Tried to use Microsoft Edge instead of Chrome
  6. Allowed pop ups in both Chrome and Edge
  7. Tried converting the PNG and JPG downloads to PDFs using Adobe Express, but the quality is too poor
  8. Tried copying and pasting text that is working in bold and changing it to the text where the bold was disappearing
  9. I’ve also tried editing the font in the downloaded PDF to bold by editing the PDF, but that doesn’t work either – it doesn’t go bold, and it screws up the line spacing
  10. Checked with IT that the font Montserrat is installed on my computer, and in Adobe Express

I can now download PDFs, but the formatting of text is altering from bold to not bold, or vice versa, and the line spacing is going wrong too.

The adverts that I’ve created are edited versions of ads I’ve created in the past though, using the same font, and which downloaded perfectly as PDFs.

@Stephen @ ADBE, do you have any news on that? When will a fix be rolled out?

@Chris30159302qgsj, sorry you are seeing that behavior. I've been able to see the same issue in my documents too, so I'll follow up with the PDF team about getting a fix made.
