Can't edit text

I'm having an issue with editing text within a file. Everytime I try to edit any aspect of the text box, including line spacing, paragraph spacing, changing fonts, or even adding a new paragraph within the text field or trying to paste in text from another place, the text turns invisible. The text box is still there, but I can no longer edit it unless I use keyboard commands to select all, delete the invisible text, and type brand new text. After retyping the text, it will disappear again once I try to resume editing aspects of it.

 

I even tried deleting the old text box and adding a new one, and the issue persists. I can edit the text a bit more when I use a standard font, but when I switch to a premium font any attempt to change anything about the text box causes the text to turn invisible.

 

The text box is not grouped with any other layers or elements, and the opacity is 100%. I'm working on the desktop app on a Mac. Yesterday I was not having this issue, as I edited several other files yesterday with no issue. The file I'm currently having the issue with was even created yesterday.

    I'll write some text out. When I go to change the font size it disappears. The text box is still there but I can't see what I wrote. I try change fonts but it doesn't do anything. I end up with a blank page with a empty text box.

    I have tried editing other projects, old ones and new ones, and the problem seems to be wide spread. Even if I create a brand new file from scratch, as soon as I start editing the text beyond the initial typing it turns invisible. It does seem that the more words that are in the text box, the faster the issue appears. Like if I only have about half a dozen words, I can make a couple changes to the text box before the text turns invisible. But if I have a whole paragraph, about a dozen words or more, as soon as I do anything (change the font, the line spacing, text color, etc.) the text immediately turns invisible. There was one time even that I was in the middle of typing and the text disappeared.

     

    I tried clearing my cache and cookies, swapping browsers (I have both Safari and Chrome on my desktop), and using incognito mode. None of this made any difference. And the text boxes were the top layer, nothing was overlapping it.

    Thanks for reaching out! We're sorry to hear about this. Is it happening with all projects or specific to this one? Did you try using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) or incognito mode to see if it makes a difference?
