Can't use up/down/delete keys inside text box

Starting today (last used express on friday) I can't use the up, down and delete keys inside a text box anymore in Adobe Express anymore. Nothing happens when I hit these keys. Also when I hold left or right the cursor doesn't move through the characters as per usual. Instead I am only able to move character by character on each press of the key.

This issue is only limited to text boxes inside a document. If I try to move an object the keys behave as they should. Also in the text window for presentation notes everything works as it should. The type of document doesn't matter though. (I mostly work on presentations at the moment, but other designs have the same issue) This is also limited to adobe express. Haven't found another website or application where i have this issue.

In the attached file I showed that I can only move left and right character by character. up and down and delete don't work. (Kinda hard to showcase in a video hope it helps nonetheless)

I'm using Windows 10 Home Edition
Version 22H2

All of my installed browsers have the same issue (tried clearing the cache as well)

Chrome: Version 141.0.7390.55 (Offizieller Build) (64-Bit)

Firefox: 143.0.4 (64-Bit)

Edge: 141.0.3537.57 (Offizielles Build) (64-Bit)

Hope somebody can help 😞

Just realized my screen recording records audio as well so I recorded another version of me explaining what I do. Can't seem to use the video function so here's a link to the unlisted video youtube

Hi Adobe Team,

I’ve run into an issue with the Delete key in Adobe Express when editing text.

  • The Delete key no longer deletes characters forward when the cursor is inside a text box.

  • The key does still remove entire text boxes when they’re selected, so that part works as expected.

  • But inside the text box, pressing Delete simply does nothing.

I have some coworkers who use this key in their work daily and they are wondering if this was removed for a reason. I couldn't find anything online about it and to try and give them some closure, i decided to ask here.

Thanks,

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Add a text box in Adobe Express.
  2. Type in a few words.
  3. Place the cursor in the middle of the text.
  4. Press Delete.
  • Expected: The next character should be deleted.

  • Actual: Nothing happens.

Hi @AhernandezCTS,

We’re sorry you’re experiencing this. Could you let us know which browser and version you’re using? Also, does the issue occur in multiple projects or just a specific one? Meanwhile, you could try clearing the browser cache, restarting, or using a different browser to see if that helps.

We’ve shared this with our engineering team for investigation and will get back to you as soon as possible.
