Creative Cloud Desktop would not launch at all. Adobe Express (web version) also failed to load and stayed stuck on an infinite loading spinner. The support chat bubble on Adobe’s help pages did not appear.

Symptoms:

  • Creative Cloud Desktop: does not launch, no error message.

  • Adobe Express (browser): login succeeds, but the home screen never loads (infinite spinner).

  • Adobe Express (browser, Incognito mode): loads normally.

  • Adobe account pages (e.g., Billing): accessible.

  • Creative Cloud Web: fails to load.

  • Support chat bubble (“speech balloon icon”) missing from help pages.

Environment:

  • Windows

  • Browser: Chrome (normal mode fails, Incognito works)

Root Cause (likely): Corrupted Adobe authentication session / cookies in the browser. Adobe Express and Creative Cloud Web rely on shared authentication tokens across multiple Adobe domains (adobe.com, adobe.io, creativecloud.adobe.com). When one of these tokens becomes invalid or corrupted, the services fail to authenticate properly, causing CC Desktop to hang and Express to stay stuck loading.

Resolution: Manually deleting all Adobe-related cookies fixed the issue immediately.

Steps to Resolve:

  1. Open browser settings → Privacy → Cookies and site data.

  2. Delete all data for:

    • adobe.com

    • adobe.io

    • creativecloud.adobe.com

  3. Close browser completely.

  4. Restart PC.

  5. Log in to Adobe again in the browser.

  6. Launch Creative Cloud Desktop.

After clearing cookies, both Creative Cloud Desktop and Adobe Express loaded normally.

Request: Please investigate the authentication/session handling across Adobe domains. A corrupted cookie should not cause Creative Cloud Desktop to fail to launch, nor should it break Adobe Express and hide the support chat interface. This behavior severely impacts workflow and is extremely difficult for users to diagnose.

Hi @tomita100, thank you for this exceptionally clear writeup, the symptom breakdown, environment details, and root cause diagnosis are extremely helpful, and I'm glad clearing cookies got you back up and running.

I'm passing this along to our team with your full diagnosis intact.
