Critical Workflow Bug: Content Scheduler Fails to Downscale High-Resolution Video for Instagram (Unl

Hello Adobe Express Team,

I am submitting a bug report and feature request concerning the Content Scheduler, which is currently making the cross-platform workflow more difficult, not easier.

https://new.express.adobe.com/schedule?postId=new

1. Immediate Bug: Failure to Downscale High-Resolution Video

The core convenience of a scheduler—uploading a single, high-quality video and posting it everywhere—is blocked because the scheduler does not automatically process videos to meet specific platform requirements.

  • The Issue: When attempting to schedule a high-resolution vertical video (optimal for TikTok and future-proofing) to Instagram, the scheduler rejects the file.
  • Concrete Evidence:
    • Uploaded Video Specs: Frame Width 2160px, Frame Height 3840px (Vertical 4K).
    • Error Message Received: "Instagram requires video to have a maximum width of 1920px."

  • The Problem: Instagram's native mobile app accepts this same high-resolution file without complaint, automatically downscaling and compressing it on the backend. The Adobe Express scheduler must catch up to this native platform behavior.
  • The Result: I would be forced to either re-export two separate files (one 1080p for Instagram and one high-res for TikTok) or upload a lower-res file everywhere, which defeats the purpose of the scheduler and makes manual posting a more efficient solution. Instead, I decided not to use the scheduler at all and upload the same file via apps instead.

2. Missing Support for Key Instagram Interactive Features (Polls)

Beyond video resolution, the scheduler is missing critical support for engagement features essential to current Instagram trends.

  • The Need: Instagram trends rely heavily on interactive stickers, particularly Polls in Stories (and increasingly in Reels).
  • The Gap: The inability to schedule content that includes interactive elements like the Instagram Poll sticker is a major functionality gap.

Feature Request Summary:

We need the Content Scheduler to perform two critical actions automatically:

  1. Automatic Video Optimization: Accept a single high-resolution source file (e.g., 4K/2K) and automatically generate and send the platform-compliant derivative file (e.g., 1080p for Instagram) to ensure optimal quality on all channels.
  2. Interactive Element Support: Allow the creation and scheduling of content that includes platform-native interactive stickers, such as Instagram Polls.

We rely on Adobe tools for efficiency and are eager to see the Content Scheduler matured to handle these core issues. Thank you for your consideration.

Hi @Gauher_Jaan3978,

Thank you for your suggestion. Unfortunately, Instagram only accepts a specific limit through its API (which is the same as other scheduling tools). This is also the case with polls.

The workaround here is that if you want to add a poll, you can use the ‘direct share’ feature which you will find in the Share menu, when selecting Instagram.

Regards,

Tarun
