editing and now everything is gray

Thanks for reporting the issue. I had a few related questions:

Are you able to recreate the issue in a new project or when attempting to upload the photo again? 
Does the gray layer appear as a separate layer in the layers panel?
Does the issue happen in different browsers?

Update: I am borrowing a computer and it appears the gray is a "Shape" that happened to have been added through some bug. 

had the same thing just happen. Was adjusting the mistletoe ribbon and the selection box for the trim behind it kept popping up and taking up the whole screen. I select crop to crop it just to the width of the trim and it grays out the rest of the layers but then just kept grayed out. I added another image to try and get back through the layers and as soon as I move the image one layer down it is grayed out and not selectable. The attached is what happens when it's exported and saved, so it isn't as if it's UI, it is actually something perceived by the app as in the image.

Did you ever find a solution or just recreate the image?
