Express webpage not showing all images loaded into the editor

Hi. Typically when building an Express webpage I load images into the editor selecting different techniques to show them. For some reason, when opening the editor of my current project, not all the uploaded images are showing up. I know they are in place since they're visible in the published link. However, what I see in the editor is a mix of text, an image or two, and blank spots where images exist. When I roll over a blank spot, where I know an image exists, I expect a submenu to pop up with options for changing or deleting an item but nothing activates. Nothing indicates an image is holding a spot except in publish view.

I'm not sure why this is happening or how to work through it if the editor isn't working properly. Any insights are appreciated. See the screenshot comparisons attached.
