I want to press FIT TO SIZE, so the canvas fits to the image

See my image, how it has a blank gap up the top, thats because I cropped the image, now it has a gap up the top. Why does it not fit the canvas to the image size. How am I supposed to know the exact measurements to resize it? this is such a HUGE waste of time. Now I have keep guessing the height until its perfect. FML
