Importing AI into Express results in faded colours?

I am trying to import an Illustrator file into Adobe Express

When I do, the colours become significantly desatured

Sometimes the fonts do not import correctly either

What are some tips for ensuring accurate import of .ai into Adobe Express?

References attached. The desaturated one is the Express file.

Hi

@James23598922xjaz

,

Thanks for reaching out! We're sorry to hear about this. Please let us know if this is happening with all .ai files or just specific to this one?

Did you try using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) or incognito mode to see if it makes a difference?

Also, try clearing the browser's cache and cookies, and restarting the browser and try again. For more information on how to clear cache and cookies check this link- https://adobe.ly/4a5ipUF and how to use incognito mode- https://adobe.ly/4a2UzZV

Hi
It seems to be happening with just this specific batch of .ai file (we had
used the import feature before successfully)
I tried using Chrome which did not help - actually, was worse, because the
text didn't import correctly that time.

Hi @James23598922xjaz,

Here are tips to ensure better results:

  • In Illustrator, convert your document color profile to sRGB (File > Document Color Mode > RGB, then Edit > Convert to Profile > sRGB IEC61966-2.1).

  • Flatten and outline fonts before export (Type > Create Outlines).

  • Export it as SVG or PNG rather than importing AI directly for more consistent results in Express.

If you're still seeing problems, just let me know—I'm happy to help further.
