Impossible to crop canvas using new Resize commands

Due to Express's new Resize feature, it's now impossible to crop the background to a custom size, and instead requires you to select from a list of options. I used to be able to easily convert a 8.5"x11" flyer design into a 1920x1080 px version by cropping the original and adjusting the individual elements - now it is impossible due to poor quality user experience design. Express is becoming embarrassingly useless as a tool for design.

The functionality in its general form "Crop Canvas to Fit Available Content" (as described by https://adobeexpress.uservoice.com/forums/951181-adobe-express/suggestions/47403947-please-make-a-fit-to-size-button-so-the-canva) did not exist in the previous version of Express.

What did exist was this specific use case https://adobeexpress.uservoice.com/forums/951181-adobe-express/suggestions/46789312-please-include-original-aspect-ratio-for-resizin which made most sense several years ago when the previous version (Spark) supported only supported 1 image.

Only the former is on the roadmap (I hope it can be delivered soon; I often find myself needing it for my projects)

Thanks,

Abhi G

Not the "on the roadmap" response for something that used to work and now doesn't...

Bring back the crop tool. I like being able to crop as a circle or other shape. The update is stupid and useless.

Hey @michelleb73553951, If you double-click on any asset on the canvas, you can crop it in any shape from the options in the left-side panel. Let me know if you're looking for something else.

@defaultus9wdnfql6g2 you are right, https://adobeexpress.uservoice.com/forums/951181-adobe-express/suggestions/47403947-please-make-a-fit-to-size-button-so-the-canva seems to better describe the feature request in its more general form.

The other link I had posted was for a specific case (fit canvas to a single background image) that was actually supported in the previous version of Adobe Express and one that some users on this thread had called out.

Thanks for the link!

The request "46789312-please-include-o..." looks differ from it.

Isn't it this?: [PLEASE make a "Fit to size" button, so the canvas will automatically fit to the image, so there are no blank areas.](https://adobeexpress.uservoice.com/forums/951181-adobe-express/suggestions/47403947-please-make-a-fit-to-size-button-so-the-canva

@Abhi.G @ ADBEI am facing a similar issue. Let me try to expand on OP's issue. Let's say with have a canvas of 800px x 800px. Then we added a layer and used background remover, that image now is say 640px x 800px. That vertical 160px gap is unncessary and adds to the size of the exported image. Now if I use the resize function, the image follows suit and is resized too.

In the 'olden' the days, there are features such as Crop Canvas to Fit Available Content, making the canvas size only as big as the content inside it. Is there any way to approach this in Adobe Express?

Hi @Kelly26706707ycor

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are looking for, but the custom size chooser is right on top the Resize panel.

You can switch the Unit from in to px, change the Width & Height values to 1920 & 1080, and click the Resize button, no?
