Inconsistent behaviour with effects

When I add an image, I can add effects such as drop shadow. When I add a video, most of these effects are not available anymore (like drop shadow). But when I replace an image with a video, the effect is still there, but not editable.

I am using google chrome (as i said before), the latest version. I now tried with incognito mode, and clearing cache and cookies, and with a different browser (fresh install of firefox). Still always the same issue.

Hi @Raphel5FEC,

Thanks for your patience!

We've shared your feedback with our development team, and they’ve confirmed that effects like shadows are currently not officially supported on videos in Adobe Express. That said, the good news is that support for these features is on the roadmap for future updates.

We appreciate you highlighting this, and your input is helping us improve the product. Let us know if you have any other questions or suggestions!

Exactly, for videos, I only have the tones effects and nothing below.

Thanks for your response

@Raphel5FEC

,

Did you try using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) or incognito mode to see if it makes a difference?

Also, try clearing the browser's cache and cookies, and restarting the browser and try again. For more information on how to clear cache and cookies check this link- https://adobe.ly/4a5ipUF and how to use incognito mode- https://adobe.ly/4a2UzZV

Let us know if that helps.

I am using the browser app with chrome on windows. I mean, when I add an image, I can add an effect to it like drop shadow (as expected). When I then replace the image with a video, the drop shadow is still visible, but NOT editable, meaning I cannot adjust the effect in the left panel (parameters like blur, angle etc.).

And when I add a video from the beginning (instead of replacing an image with a video), I cannot add effects like drop shadow at all, which is weird, since they are rendered using the steps I described above. So either, these effects should be consistently available and adjustable for video, or not, and if not, they should not still be visible but not adjustable.

Hi

@Raphel5FEC

,

Welcome to the community! Could you please tell us which platform you are working on? Is it desktop or mobile? When you say that you replace an image with a video, the effect is still there, but editable. May I know what you mean by that? Were you unable to choose other options under tones?

For having more options of effects when you add video, you can submit your feedback here- https://adobe.ly/4dLbP7X as our product team reviews this page and actively monitors it.

Regards,

Tarun
