Up until yesterday, InDesign was able to export files into Adobe Express perfectly fine. This morning, it isn't working. Please help!

Real quick... is the file extension .indt or is it .indd? You could also try saving it as a .pdf if nothing else works, then open in Express.

Hi @chaimaa.7

Please find a screenshot of the error message attached.

I'm running Mac OS Sequoia (15.5) on a MacBook Pro.

The file I'm exporting is a 5-page file with a simple image and text (converted into outlines) for a social media post. All my linked images and fonts on my file are correctly linked. For your reference, please find a screenshot of one of the pages attached. I've also tried saving the file as .idml but that didn't work either.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best,

Lina

Hi @LinaMariaBotero, thanks again for your feedback. To help us investigate the issue further, would you be able to share the Request ID related to the error, if you have it?

Also, could you share the file causing the problem? It would really help us determine whether we can reproduce the issue on our end.

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi @chaimaa.7, thank you for your message. I've tried all the things you mentioned (everything is updated, on the same Adobe account, I've actually restarted my computer a couple of times, deleted my cache), and it is still not working. I can try a work around as a last resort, but I really liked the feature that allows me to export from InDesign to Express in one step.

The error message InDesign is giving me says "InDesign could not perform this workflow. Please try again later."

Any ideas?

Hi @LinaMariaBotero. Thanks so much for the update and for trying those steps already. Since the issue persists, could you please share a screenshot of the error message you're seeing in InDesign, along with any other details you think might help (e.g., the file type you're exporting, your OS version)? This will help us better understand what’s going on and pass accurate info to the product team. We really appreciate your patience and want to get this resolved as quickly as possible!

Thanks,

Chaimaa

Hello @LinaMariaBotero, thanks for reaching out, and we're sorry for the trouble you're experiencing! If InDesign was exporting to Adobe Express without issues until recently, we recommend trying the following steps:

  • Restart both apps (InDesign and Adobe Express) and ensure you're signed into the same Adobe account.
  • Check for updates for both InDesign and Adobe Express to make sure you're using the latest versions.
  • If you're using the "Publish to Express" feature, try exporting the file manually from InDesign as a PDF or JPEG and then uploading it to Adobe Express to see if that works as a workaround.
  • Clear the cache or try a different browser if you're accessing Adobe Express via web.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, please let us know what error message you're seeing (if any) or share more details — we’ll be happy to escalate it to the appropriate team.

Best,

Chaimaa
