Issues with playback and lag, file duplication and exporting

Something is seriously up with your Adobe Xpress. I wasn't able to duplicate a previous file I created - just kept asking for a new name, and repeating. Fine, I'll create it from scratch. Everything was working, then I touch the Animation effect on an element and its broken the file again. 3 hours of my time wasted! WTF
