My photo will not upload and I've compressed it 4 different times. There's not even a popup saying why it won't upload or even confirming that I tried to upload it.

Sorry to hear you are running into this issue. We have a bug where the error message related to failed uploads is not showing up. In the meantime, you can check the requirements here https://helpx.adobe.com/express/system-requirements.html#technicalrequirements

 

My guess is that your photo is hitting the 8k x 8k limit.
