Migrated files!

I followed all the steps for migrating files and they are all my original work was lost. Cannot find it on mobile apps or desktops. This is very dishearting for I have worked very hard over the years on these projects How can I retrieve my work? Is there a cloud? Will my files be restored? Please Help!
