No error message when uploads don't wqork

It's insanely frustrating that there is no error message, or sign of progress, or confirmation, or really ANYTHING that happens between when you click upload a file, and when your image (maybe) appears on screen. When it doesn't work, there is no way to know what's wrong. This time, it doesn't allow any images, so I know it's you. But sometimes it might be too-large, wrong format, etc. Really frustrating.
