no options showing up in my create board

I am trying to create a custom card. When I open the design board for a custom card, I see along the far left border the following options: Search, Your Stuff, Templates, Media, Text, Elements, and Grids. However, when i click on each there is nothing there. No options are presented. what is going on with this app?
