Open in Illustrator hangs the app

If I try to open an AI file that I've uploaded to edit it Illustrator hangs on downloading the image and I have to force quit the app.

Whenever I have used the linked assets feature I open the file from Illustrator, not from Adobe Express. Then when the file is saved in Illustrator Adobe Express should prompt you with the message that linked assets have been changed, do you want to update?
