Photos posting as Black instead of image

Anyone else experience the inability to have your photo upload to Instagram?  there must've been a recent change now when I post using an Adobe photo it posts as black.

the app for Adobe &  Instagram and my phone have all been updated. I even went so far as said, delete both Adobe and Instagram and reinstall them

this has been going on for a little over a week now   a little frustrated paying for an app which my primary use is for creating content to post on IG

YES!

I just logged in on 2 separate devices, both mobile and desktop view.

When I tried to replace a photo in a template I use regularly, the picture is black, as if it disappeared.

I tried with another template I use regularly.   But when I click on the photo and click replace, I am unable to access anything.  All the editing tools show as gray squares, and clicking replace just leads to a black box.

I have been so, so frustrated with adobe spark the past month.

The app quit working a few weeks ago.  When I open it and try to login, it just goes to a white screen with an adobe logo, or occasionally,  a white screen that says it is having trouble logging in, with a "retry" button that leads to the white screen.  Updating the app did not fix anything.

I had been using the web version since the app quit in October.  Then today I logged in, open the file I needed to work on, and got black squares when I tried to replace the photo and edit buttons that are all gray.

What a disaster this once user friendly program has become for me.

I hope that there is an easy solution, or a way to revert back to the app version pre October 2025.

Thanks for your response & trying the steps mentioned by @mahmoud_5524

If photos are appearing black instead of showing the actual image in Adobe Express, it’s often related to browser rendering or corrupted uploads.

Did you try using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) or incognito mode to see if it makes a difference?

Also, try clearing the browser's cache and cookies, and restarting the browser and try again. For more information on how to clear cache and cookies check this link- https://adobe.ly/4a5ipUF and how to use incognito mode- https://adobe.ly/4a2UzZV

Let us know if that helps.

Hi @lims9697,

Sorry you’re experiencing this. We understand how frustrating it can be. To resolve it, please try the following steps:

  1. Flatten and Export – Avoid transparency; export as JPEG.

  2. Save to Device First – Don’t share directly; upload from your gallery.

  3. Update Apps and Restart Device – Ensure both Adobe and Instagram are updated.

If it still happens, please share a short screen recording, your device, OS, and app versions.
