VERY poor result. Elements missing, transparent background not respected properly. It's unusable. Very disappointed.

Using latest version of Adobe CC.

Windows 11

Hi. When I take a small png and image trace in Illustrator I get the vector. There's a bit of tidying up to do, but I get the paths.
When I take a small png in Adobe Express, I don't get the same result. Nothing like it. My use case was simple.. the png was an icon - nothing complex. I SHOULD be able to do that online without having to load Illusrator.

Hey @Ericadyson, this might be due to the size difference between the PNG and the Adobe Express project canvas. Could you share the media with us so we can test it and investigate?

Hi Amitej

Thanks for getting back to me. I don't have it anymore. But I will create
another example and send it to you.

Appreciate your help. I don't always have Illustrator to hand, so I need
Adobe Express to help me out!

Hi @Ericadyson,

We’re sorry to hear about the poor results with PNG-to-vector conversion. Here’s how to improve it:

  1. Use High-Resolution PNGs (300+ DPI) for better tracing.

  2. Adjust Settings: In Illustrator, try Object > Image Trace > High Fidelity and tweak Paths/Corners.

  3. Check Transparency: Enable Ignore White in Image Trace settings.

  4. Update Software: Ensure Illustrator/Adobe Express and graphics drivers are current.

If issues persist, share screenshots of the original PNG and vector output for further investigation.

Thanks for your help but I was referring to Adobe Express.. it just doesn't
work well.

Illustrator is OK but Adobe Express just doesn't do what it says 'on the
tin'.

Hi

@Ericadyson

,

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing these issues. This isn’t the expected behaviour. Could you share more details on whether this happens with all projects or just specific ones? Also, have you tried a different export setting to see if that helps?

Did you try using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) or incognito mode to see if it makes a difference?

Also, try clearing the browser's cache and cookies, and restarting the browser and try again. For more information on how to clear cache and cookies check this link- https://adobe.ly/4a5ipUF and how to use incognito mode- https://adobe.ly/4a2UzZV

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,

Tarun
