Project Subfolders and Client Assets Missing After Update

After the latest Adobe Express update, all my Project Subfolders—and the client content stored within them—have disappeared. These projects were also shared with my clients, which has now disrupted their access to shared data and templates. This has caused significant dissatisfaction in my client collaborations and undermined trust in the reliability of your platform.

I spent over an hour trying to understand whether my work could be retrieved, delaying my deadlines and negatively affecting my clients. Additionally, the removal of folder organization and the new UI—requiring more clicks to access assets, templates, and files—has made the workflow far less efficient and noticeably time-consuming.

The sudden disappearance of my work has made me question the reliability of storing files in Adobe Express. Losing hundreds of hours of work without consent is unacceptable, especially for a paid service. This experience is pushing me toward considering alternative platforms such as Canva or Affinity.

I ask for clarification on how Adobe plans to prevent such issues in the future.

Thank you for your reply. Here are the answers to your questions:

  • I am using an Enterprise plan.

  • The missing subfolders belonged to shared projects.

  • The Deleted and Archived folders are empty. I eventually located the missing folders under my Creative Cloud documents, but I had to manually move each file back into the Project folder. This resulted in one large, cluttered folder with no structure, making it significantly harder for both me and my clients to find the necessary files.

  • I have been logged into the correct account and profile the entire time.

  • My clients' assets (template files) created in Adobe Express—were stored and organized within these subfolders before they disappeared.

This issue has severely disrupted my workflow and client collaboration.

Thank you and regards,
Ralitsa

Thanks for your response @magical_intelligence00695,

I have escalated the case to our product team for further investigation. Meanwhile, can you please share your Adobe ID with me via private message?

Private messages should be accessible from the envelope in the top right corner. This should be the direct URL https://community.adobe.com/t5/notes/privatenotespage

Hi @magical_intelligence00695,

Welcome to the community! Thank you for reporting this—it sounds incredibly disruptive to lose access to subfolders and client assets after an update. Let’s work through this together. Please answer a few questions below-

  1. Are you using Adobe Express for Teams/Enterprise or the individual plan?
  2. When you say “client assets,” were these stored in Libraries, Brand Kits, or uploaded directly into the project folders?
  3. Have you checked if the assets appear under “Deleted” or “Archived” in Express, or in your Creative Cloud Files via the web?
  4. Please ensure you are signed in with your correct profile. For more information, check this article- https://helpx.adobe.com/enterprise/using/manage-adobe-profiles.html
