Remove object function is not working

When I use the “remove object” feature, all the results I am given are extremely pixelated. The quality is also radically decreased in the surrounding areas, not just where I choose to remove.

I've had the same problem for a few weeks now. This operation renders the image unusable, and this happens with all kinds of images without exception.

I uninstalled and then reinstalled the application, but that did not solve the problem.

I'm very worried, how do I solve this?

Hi @sincere_Moonbeamda88 - sorry you've been dealing with this, and I understand the worry. Let's work through it properly so we can figure out what's going on.

Since reinstalling didn't change anything, a few things would really help me narrow it down:

    1. What device and OS are you on (e.g. iPhone/iOS version, Windows, Mac)?

    2. Are you using Express in a web browser or the mobile app? (and which browser, if web)

    3. Does it happen on every image regardless of type, or is it worse on certain ones (larger files, higher resolution, particular formats like PNG vs JPG)?

    4. If you can, a before-and-after screenshot - the original image and the pixelated result after Remove Object - this would show us exactly what's happening

A couple of quick things worth trying in the meantime, in case it's environment-related:

    • If you're on the web, try the same image in a different browser or an incognito window
    • Try one image at new.express.adobe.com in a browser vs. the app (if you've been using one or the other), to see if the result differs

I only use the application on my up-to-date Android smartphone. I think this applies to both types of image files (jpg and png).

Hi @Celestial_musician5F9B! Thanks for reporting this!

Could you let us know if this happens with every image or only specific images? It would also help to know:

    • Device and OS version
    • Whether you're using the Adobe Express web or mobile app
    • Browser and version, if applicable
    • Image format and approximate resolution/file size

If possible, please share a before-and-after screenshot or screen recording showing the original image and the result after using Remove Object.

This will help us better understand the quality degradation and investigate further.

    Do share the details!

    Best!
