Shape won’t change color

I encountered a bug when I added a shape to a text element. It was the rectangle with rounded edges. Anytime I tried to select a different color, it wouldn’t end up applying it to the shape. I attached a video for reference. You can see the palettes suggestions change as I selected the colors but nothing was every applied. I tried a few times and even closed the app, but it still didn’t work.
