Size window closes when edit selected

When I want to add a new artwork, the window for custom size pops up.

If I select the width value by click and dragging (marking) the value, the window closes/crashs when the mouse exits the edit. (See the video)

 

This is extreme annoying!

 

I only can click in the edit, press several times backspace on the keyboard and then enter the new value.

That is not a behaviour, we would expect in 2023 😞

I agree this is very annoying, has there been an update on getting this to stop?

    That's no solution.
    The window disappears, if my mouse pointer left the window - sure, if I'm dragging from left t right, I reach this point later, since the distance from the edge of the edit is larger in this case.

    But why should I change my default behaviour of marking a text in an edit - which worked finde over decades and operating systems, because of Adobe's inability to create dialoges, that doesn't crash if the mouse pointer left the window?
