"Sorry, we were unable to remove background from this image. Please try re- uploading your asset"

I was working on editing some images, and all of the images are now ending up with this error.

 

I've tried multiple computers, multiple accounts, multiple browsers, and private mode, all them have the same issue.

 

The only time I could get an image to work is if i sign out, use the public background removal tool, and then after background is removed, sign back in to download it.

 

I'm on windows 11, and the browsers I tried are Opera and Edge

    I too, am having the same issue nearly two weeks after these reports. 😐 Was hopeful to see some news or an update.

    Having the same issue. I've seen other comments on reddit and other forums of many people experiencing the same issue. I think this is an issue on Adobe’s end. Hoping for a fix soon!

    same here since last evening. have tried different file extensions, photos, etc...nothing same error message

    Welcome to the Adobe Express community! We’re sorry to hear about your experience. Could you please let us know when you first noticed this issue? Are you using images from your local drive or Adobe Stock images to remove the background? Can you share the screenshot of the error message? Are you on VPN?

    I attached the screenshot, i noticed today, i think it works fine last week when i use it. Yes i am using VPN. i am using images from local drive

    I am getting this issue too… I use the remove background feature on a daily basis, and have tried images from which backgrounds have been removed successfully in the past as well as the one I want to do, random images from my files… GRRR. 

    As I use the web version I don’t have an app cache to clear… Off to reboot everything, if that doesn’t work I’m not sure what to do next!
