SVG files uploaded as brand graphics were editable. Now they behave as png and you can't change the color.

A month ago I uploaded a bunch of svg files to my brand kit and I was able to edit and choose any of my brand colors from the “edit” menu. Now when I insert one of those graphics they behave as png, I could only edit the color if I added the effect as the duotone. I need to be able to edit the color directly and put the correct hex.

I just started using Adobe Express and I am having the same issue with graphics both in brand kits or in a library. If I upload the same graphic directly from my computer to the project I’m editing in Express, it works fine: acts as a SVG and I can change color. As soon as I upload the graphics into a brand kit or a library and try to use them that way, they behave as png.

I saw in the brand kit there is a setting where you can choose if changing the color of graphics is allowed. Seems like this setting does not work currently.
