Text Not Appearing

I duplicated a flyer that I made about a year ago. That flyer was converted to the new format. However, when I opened the duplicate flyer to amend the text, instead of text boxes, there were gray squares with spinning circles in them. Consequently, I was unable to amend the text. I tried closing and then going back into the flyer a few times, but this issue occurred each time and never resolved itself

It might not show anything useful but could you post a screenshot of the text panel with one these text boxes selected? I'm wondering if maybe the font used in the original flyer is no longer available on Adobe Fonts. There may be something in the panel that helps to check that.

 

If it is that the font is no longer available you will have to choose a different font.
