Every time i select a page and click translate and select "English" and "Don't change tone" it says "Please select a page to translate" even tho it's already selected. This seems like a bug I tried it in Safari and Chrome

Thanks for your help

Hey there I encountered the same problem as you and here's the fix I found:

1. Print PDF to microsft PDF (this flattens the pdf, removing all design attributes attached to the pdf)
2. Open the flattened PDF and perform an OCR. (This recognizes the text)
3. Upload the OCRed PDF to adobe express, it should now display the pages to translate. (It didn't display it before because it didn't recongnize the text)

Hi @wise_light6857 ,

Have you tried the following steps as mentioned previously under the main post :

You'd need to first click outside the canvas (the gray area). Then, you'll get an option with 'Edit page' & 'Resize' above the canvas.

Select 'Edit Page' and then 'Translate' from the left side panel.

Please note: . To use the Translate button, you’ll first need to extract or convert the image into editable text. Once the text appears in a text box (instead of an image), you’ll be able to translate it normally.

Let us know if you're still unable to find the translate option.

Thank you for sharing the issue with the engineering team. I'm still not able to resolve it.

It's happing with different documents, so I tried multiple. I'm uploading pdf files from Acrobat. So I'm trying to use the Acrobat translate function which automatically sends it to Adobe Express.

Thank you. Waiting for your feedback, but probably need to switch to another package then. Thank you for your help!

Hi @wise_light6857,

Thanks for following up. Can you please share a sample PDF that had this issue and your Adobe ID? A screen recording would be helpful as well. Feel free to send it via DM.

Thanks

Thank you for sharing the details and the screenshot. We’re sorry you’re experiencing this issue with the Translate function—it sounds frustrating. We’ve shared your case with our engineering team so they can investigate further.

In the meantime, could you let us know if this happens with all designs or just specific files? Any additional details will help our team pinpoint the issue faster.

We really appreciate your patience and understanding, and will keep you updated as soon as we have news.

Hi Tarun,

thank you for picking up this issue.

- The source language is "German" the target "English"

- I tried Safari and Chrome

Going to try incognito mode and restart soon. Meanwhile below the screenshot.

I can repruduce it all the time.

Cheers!

Hi @wise_light6857,

Thanks for reporting the issue with the Translate functionality in Adobe Express. To help us troubleshoot this faster, could you please confirm which language you're trying to translate into English? Could you please share a screenshot of the error message?

Did you try using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) or incognito mode to see if it makes a difference?

Also, try clearing the browser's cache and cookies, and restarting the browser and try again. For more information on how to clear cache and cookies check this link- https://adobe.ly/4a5ipUF and how to use incognito mode- https://adobe.ly/4a2UzZV

Please check this article for more information- https://helpx.adobe.com/express/web/add-effects-to-your-designs/add-text/translate.html

Let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Tarun
