AE is not loading my images and stays in perpetual "loading" function (see screenshot). I've rebooted the online app (Google Chrome is up to date V134.0.6998.166). I'm not able to upload images either.
Are there issues with the app right now or is it just me?

I tried replicating the same on the Google Chrome browser, and it worked fine. Can you retry after clearing the cache/cookies of the browser? You may also want to try other recommended browsers to see if that makes any difference. Also, ensure that you have stable internet connectivity.
