Unable to Download MP4 file on Adobe Express. Was able to two days ago.

Very frustrating. I am putting together a Town Hall video for a large audience, in two days. I spliced together multiple videos in a project and was able to download with no issues. I made changes and now I'm unable to download the file no matter what i try (clearing cache, different browsers, different wifi, VPN on and off, using app and web, restarting, incognito mode). I receive the error message "Download failed. An error ocurred while downloading your file. Please try again."

I am super disappointed I spent hours into this project, using Adobe Express for the first time. Why is there no fix for this? It's a joke and now I don't have a working video and won't be able to use the one I downloaded already so can't meet the objective.

We use capcut for things too.  Great for longer format things and we are getting better at it, but this is something small that we've always done with Express.  About time to sh** can this and just bite the bullet and do everything with more professional software.  I have Adobe Premiere Pro too, but just for simple edits used to love the simpleness of Express.  Now its turning to garbage.

Same issue here and here are the screen grabs:

To answer Mahmoud

Safari Web Version

Apple IOS Mobile App

MP4 File is always approximately 8-10MB

I have tried duplicating everything to get this to work and it is not

The product has been getting worse and worse with updates, not better and you are about to lose my money.

Guess there's a good reason nobody uses this app. what a waste of time. a known issue where a video can not be downloaded or otherwise exported, for a video editing software, rendering it useless.  cap-cut works great!

just saying.

Due to the massive AWS outage that occurred on Oct 20th, 2025, a subset of Adobe products and services hosted experienced performance issues. This might be due to the same outage. Can you restart the device and see if that makes any difference? I suggest trying to log in to the Adobe Express app using a desktop browser after clearing its cache/cookies.

Let us know about your observations!

Note: You can check for Adobe's system status report here https://adobe.ly/4oyIodl

Best!

I´m having the exact same problem, tried all the solutions, even asked a colleague to try and download from her account. Nothing is working and it's only an 11 second video. It was my firs time using adobe express with the main goal to create videos for social media, and it sucks. I can't find a solution anywhere here or online! It's really frustrating!

Hi @carina_isabel_8422,

We’re very sorry for the frustration. A few things that may help: try clearing your browser cache, using an incognito/private window, or switching browsers. If the issue persists, could you share the project file via DM with granted access to edit so our product team can investigate directly? Any screenshots or a short screen recording would also help.

I'm having the same issue when i try the following:

• Convert to gif

• Resize vidoe

• Trim video

For reference this is via the web - i've tried both Chrome and Safari - same error - mutltiple times.

Hi

@Carey33079672qpeg

,

Welcome to the community! Typically, this means that the licensing for some of the assets used in the file has changed and needs to be removed and updated.

Please open the layers for the file, check for any blank layers (including audio tracks if this is a video project), and delete them. After deleting the blank layers, you should no longer receive this error. They'll likely need to be edited and broken out.

Let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Tarun

I cannot share the link on a public forum. I was able to send the link to my phone and download it there, but I need a solution to download it on my work computer.

@mahmoud_5524 thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, none of them resolved the issue. My video is less than 1 min long, so there shouldn't be a size issue.

Hi @dragonfly_3277,

Thanks for the update, and we’re really sorry this is still happening.

To help resolve this quickly, please share:

  1. Your project link (with view access).

  2. The device and browser/app version you're using.

  3. If you’ve tried duplicating the project and downloading that version.

We’re here to help get your video ready in time.

Hi @dragonfly_3277,

Thanks for sharing the details — we understand how frustrating this situation is.

Since you've already tried multiple steps, we recommend the following additional actions that have helped some users:

  • Duplicate the project and try downloading from the new copy.

  • Reduce file size by shortening the video or removing high-resolution assets.

  • If using the web, try switching to the mobile app (or vice versa).

  • Temporarily disable browser extensions that might interfere with downloads.

We're continuing to monitor similar reports and appreciate your patience while we look into this. Let us know if anything changes after trying the above steps.

Hi @greg_4783,

Thanks for sharing the details — we understand how frustrating this must be, especially with an important deadline approaching.

To help us investigate further, could you please let us know:

  • Which device and operating system you're using (e.g. Windows 11, macOS, iPad)?

  • Are you using the web version or the mobile app?

  • Approximately how large is the final MP4 file?

  • If you’ve tried creating a duplicate of the project and downloading that?

We’ll do our best to assist you quickly — thanks again for your patience!
