URL and preview

Since the last update, when providing a URL that generates a preview with a title and an image, the preview is removed when we remove the URL from the text. This was not how it worked before, and it's not how most social media platforms operate: it's pointless to have the preview and still have to keep the URL in the text. So, in this specific case (which is the majority of the time), I no longer use the platform because as soon as you remove the URL, it also removes the preview.

Hi Tarun,

Thank you for your answer !

No matter the platform I wish to publish on, it's the Adobe Express preview that's the issue.

Typically, if we're directly on Facebook or LinkedIn and we want to display a link preview (image + title) below the publication text, all we have to do is enter the URL. Then, the link preview shows the image and the intended article title.

After that, to ensure that the publication text doesn't contain the URL visibly since the image is clickable, we can delete it. Thus, the final publication only retains the text + the image/title, with no visible URL. Adobe Express used to work this way until recently.

Unfortunately, this no longer works. As soon as we remove the URL from the Adobe Express publication, the link preview is also erased. Obviously, this phenomenon has nothing to do with the browser (tested), but it's specific to the new functioning of Adobe Express publication.

For example, on Facebook, step 1 is as follows:

Step 2 is as follows (I removed the URL, but the preview is still available):

On Adobe Express, step 1 is as follows:

Step 2 is as follows (I removed the URL, the preview is deleted):

Hi there,

We're sorry to hear about this. Could you please let us know which platform you are using to post the URL? Is it possible for you can share the screen recording of the issue? Have you tried using the other suggested browsers (Safari, Microsoft Edge, and Google Chrome) to see if it makes a difference?

Try clearing the browser's cache and cookies of the browser you're using and let us know if that helps.

Regards,

Tarun
