videos stop working and won't allow edits as a result. And when you add another video the entire page just shuts down. Frustrating beyond, just lost time

Test in different browsers - Chrome, Edge, Safari
Try clearing the browser cache - https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/32050
Test in incognito/private browsing mode - https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95464
