Video Slip Editor is not working for duplicated scenes

I Noticed recently when editing video there is an extra step to  open the slip edit feature for individual clips in a scene. Normally I would duplicate a scene then slip edit a video to feature a different section of my original video. However recently when I duplicate a scene and open the split editor option, as soon as i click on the slip editing clip it closes and I am unable to slip edit the clip.

*Split editing does work if I make a new scene an re import the whole clip and then re edit it to get the timing. However this more time consuming for a feature that previously worked in the past.
