Why doesn't images stretch? instead they get cut off

Please, for the love of GOD, allow us to stretch the image, without it cutting the sides or bottom/top off. I want the whole image to be in the canvas and not cut off when I stretch it. I want a normal resizing, not this type. I hate this type of resizing. It doesn't even make sense. You resize a photo on any other program it works like normal, but this adobe express it doesn't. You stretch it right, and the whole thing expands with the bottom of my image getting cut off. If you must have it like this, have a button we can change it.

AMEN! Just let us manipulate it how we would like! I know it would distort the shape of the image.... that is what we are trying to do. I have to take the image over to a different (lesser in my opinion) software to get it the shape I need then save it and bring it back as a new image. Silly.

I second this!! All I want to do is stretch a border element to fit the size of my page and you can't stretch it! Unbelievable

Hello! I can feel the frustration in your post. Surely that would distort any feature of the image? In any photo program I've used when it comes to resizing, proportional control is the norm - to keep the integrity of the image. The only time I can think of is perhaps an abstract photo, where you might want to stretch and distort it for effect - which yes, isn't possible in Adobe Express.

Would you tell us more about exactly what it is you want to achieve? A screenshot would help too. 😊

Design elements/assets - brushes, frames, banners, shapes, etc - are the resizing flexibility (non-proportional) focus and critical issue on the design front with AE. Not photos/images.

The fact that there are thousands of design elements that should allow non-proportional stretching - so that they can be adjusted for the user’s design needs (eg - stretching a frame/shape/brush element to properly align with user’s font/type or image) is fundamental to basic design capabilities. As is the case in competitive offerings.

This deficiency is leading me to use other design platforms.
