Resource Import Failed from Adobe Stock

Hello,

I'm running into a very recent issue which appears to only impact some of the newer materials provided in the Adobe Stock (formerly known as Substance Source).

I find myself unable to import certain new materials - such as "Metal Air Vent Escher" - either via the option to 'send to Painter' or by downloading and manually importing the resources.

The error I am getting is attached as an image to this post. It unfortunately doesn't provide any hints as to what might cause this issue.

Many older materials can be imported or sent to Painter perfectly fine, and a lot of new materials also seem to work, but so far I've tried 3 different 'air vent' hard surfaces and each one gives the same problems.

Thanks for the response. I'll wait for the next release, as I found an older alternative suitable asset that worked as well.

Glad to know I wasn't breaking things on my end. 😄

Hey Raap01!
Unfortunately the decals from this release (which include all of the air vents) don't work at the moment in Painter because of an issue on the painter side which will be fixed in their next release.
There is however a workaround to make it work: you can go on the 3D assets website and download the "sbs" format of the vents you want to use by using the dropdown arrow in the asset page next to the download button. As you already licensed them you won't have to spend more points.
You can then open the sbs in Substance 3D Designer and change the Graph Type to "Standard Material".
You can then re-export this to sbsar and you'll be able to use that in Painter!
Sorry for the trouble

Hi

I've moved this thread to the Adobe 3D assets forum as a bug. Let's see what response we get from Adobe.

I can confirm that both 'Metal Air Vent Escher' and 'Metal Air Vent Diamond' seem to download OK but fail to load to Substance Painter here

Hello, thank you for confirming the issue, I was not sure if it was a problem exclusively on my local machine. 🙂

What would be the best way to raise attention for this issue? Is this post sufficient? It quite possibly impacts a larger set of the newer materials, though I'm not going to check each one myself... I have a lot of 'stock credit' but not infinite. 😄
