Designer crashes when manipulating interface windows

I have a Steam version of Substance Designer. When I try to make any changes (move, close, maximize and etc.) to interface windows, the program crashes. Thad makes the work almost impossible.

Hi! Thank you for reporting that.

It is possible the crash is triggered by the size of the 3D View being changed while a render is in progress, which triggers new renders as the size changes.

This can particularly cause issues if a graphics overlay/post-process is active in the background,. (Learn more here)

    Therefore, I recommend either:

    • Arranging the workspace before starting the 3D View
    • Closing the 3D View and reopening it as an empty dock: Click the 3D View’s ‘X’ button to close it then go to ‘Windows > 3D View’ (NOT ‘New 3D View’, which starts a render in the empty dock), then arranging the workspace.

Once the workspace arrangement is finished, you may use the ‘View outputs in 3D View’ contextual action in any Substance graph to start a new 3D View render.

I know this is convoluted, but at this time it is the only workaround we know for that issue.

If this does not prevent the crash, then we may be looking at a different issue altogether. Feel free to let me know.

    Best regards.
