sbsar bit depth inherit problem

Hi,

I made simple filter graph, grayscale input set to inherit bit depth from input. This is connected directly to an output. Both with default "input", "output" names. I've saved this graph as an .sbs and .sbsar and brought them into a new graph. I've connected a 16bit input to both, the .sbs properly inherited the bit depth while the .sbsar does not.

I couldn't find any mention of this as a known limitation in the documentation and was wondering if this was a bug or did I miss something.

Chat Support wasn't helpful...

Thanks in advance

If you are using it as a subgraph in another graph, use sbs. If you are using it in Painter, use sbsar setting it relative to parent before publishing.

Thanks but these sbsar limitations are annoying and break the whole setup.

    Hi

See this page https://helpx.adobe.com/substance-3d-designer/substance-compositing-graphs/nodes-reference-for-substance-compositing-graphs/atomic-nodes/input.html  which states :

'Caution : The Relative to input inheritance method for Input nodes is not supported in Substance 3D assets (SBSAR). Set all Input nodes' inheritance methods to Relative to parent before publishing your package.'
