Substance Designer Baker (SAT version as well) rotating high poly model

I have been using the Designer 3d baker both in program and from CLI with the SAT for several years  and something broke in the most recent update.  If I bring my high and low into Painter...or any other baker, they align correctly.  Whenever I try to use the Designer/SAT baker, the low poly needs to be rotated in a positive 90 degrees (y-up Maya) to align with the high poly.  Same model, other programs align correctly, Designer needs a rotation that shouldn’t be there.

Hello Chris,

Designer and SAT currently use a different technological stack than Painter for handling 3D scenes.

Please share the most recent Designer version in which the bake worked as expected, and the first version it broke in the way you describe.

Please also provide more details about the low poly and high poly scenes so we can narrow down the issue:

  • File formats
  • Export settings (Is the ‘up’ axis explicitly specified?)
  • Object parenting
  • Any other details you think are relevant

If possible, feel free to share test assets. You may reach out to me in DM, or send a bug report with link/attachments from Designer’s ‘Help > Report a bug...’ menu action.

I appreciate your patience!

Best regards.
