    Hi @talented_Smile5ddd

Thanks for stopping by the Premiere forums and giving us some details about your issue with Premiere mobile projects importing into desktop Premiere. We’d like to get some more information about your setup and issue to help troubleshoot.

    1. Which mobile app and device are you using?
Is it Premiere on iPhone/iPad for example? Please share the app version, device model, and version.

    2. What exactly becomes unavailable on desktop?
Is File > Import Premiere Mobile Project itself greyed out, or is that command available but the transferred project is missing/disabled in its list? A screenshot of the open File menu would help.

    3. What were the exact transfer steps and result?
On mobile, did you choose Send a copy to desktop? Did it report completion? If available, please include the project’s file count, size, and approximate transfer time.

    4. Does it affect every transfer, or only after the first one?
Does the original transferred project still import? What happens with a newly created, very small test project? Does resending the same project differ from sending a new one?

    5. Are mobile and desktop signed into the same Adobe account and the same profile?
Is it a personal, school/education, or enterprise-managed account?

    6. What is the version and build of Premiere on your desktop and what is your setup like mac or PC, which macOS or win11/10, and mac chip type or if pc, driver version and build?
Please share Premiere’s exact version/build, the operating system/version, etc.

    7. Visible on the cloud details
Where do you see it, and are both the transferred project and its media present? Does the desktop import command list the project, or is only a cloud file/folder visible?

    8. Can you provide a short screen recording and a test project?
Ideally show the mobile send completing, then the desktop File menu and import result.

If you like, we can send you our private Dropbox upload link, just let us know.
    Hope to help!
    Katie

    Hi Katie,

    Thanks for your response.

I think the most important detail is that this feature had been working perfectly fine for several months, and then suddenly stopped working about two weeks ago, without any apparent reason.

    To clarify the situation:

    1. The issue is with the desktop import option itself.

In Premiere Desktop, File > Import Premiere Mobile Project is greyed out. We cannot even open the window to browse or select a project. This is not a failed transfer or a missing project in the list. The import feature itself is simply unavailable.

    2. We have already done extensive troubleshooting.

    • Tested four different versions of Premiere Desktop, all with the same result.

    • Updated the Adobe applications.

    • Tested different internet connections and ruled out antivirus interference.

    • Tested two different Adobe accounts, both with the same issue.

    • Tested a third account: surprisingly, the transfer worked once, but shortly afterwards the import option became greyed out on that account too.

    All accounts are enterprise-managed.

    3. Premiere Mobile and Creative Cloud are still working.

We can send projects from Premiere Mobile to Creative Cloud without any apparent issue. The uploads complete successfully, and we can see and download the projects and their media through Creative Cloud Web.

The problem is specifically that Premiere Desktop no longer allows us to access the mobile project import feature.

    4. Even the manual download workaround doesn't work properly.

We have also tried downloading the ZIP files containing the OTIO project and media directly from Creative Cloud.

Depending on how we import them into Premiere Desktop, we either end up with:

    • The project timeline, but all media offline.

    • The media imported as consecutive clips, without recovering the actual edited timeline.

So we currently have no reliable way to recover our mobile edits on desktop.

What we really need to understand is why a feature that worked reliably for months suddenly became unavailable across several accounts and Premiere versions.

Is Adobe aware of any recent regression affecting this feature? What exactly determines whether the "Import Premiere Mobile Project" option is enabled or greyed out?

Could something have changed on Adobe's side, particularly regarding enterprise accounts, cloud services, or licensing?

We would be happy to provide screenshots, exact version numbers or diagnostic information.

    Thanks for your help!

One additional detail that may be relevant to this issue:

Creative Cloud reports only around 9 MB of storage used out of our 1 TB quota, despite several Premiere Mobile projects being successfully uploaded and accessible through Creative Cloud Web.

For comparison, a single project downloaded from Creative Cloud, including its media, is nearly 1 GB.

We have confirmed that we are using the same Adobe account and enterprise profile.

This seems like a significant discrepancy between the actual amount of cloud content and the reported storage usage.

Could you clarify whether Premiere Mobile projects and their associated media are supposed to count towards the Creative Cloud storage quota?

If so, could this discrepancy indicate an issue with cloud storage synchronization, account entitlements, or the backend services responsible for transferring projects to Premiere Desktop?

We are wondering whether this could be related to the "Import Premiere Mobile Project" option suddenly becoming greyed out after months of working correctly.
