Adobe Media Encoder v24 bugs, exports with stretched pixels

There's a few bugs that I've noticed with the new version of AME (version 24.0)

1 (already reported): The app installs with the queue window turned off by default, so it looks as if exports are not queuing from Prmiere and After Effects.

2: Exports are coming out with stretched pixels on the right side of the screen. (I'm attaching the screenshot from premiere and the end result from AME) this is exported as a h.265 HEVC and I've only noticed this issue in the recent update, it doesn't happen in previous versions

3: Exports will often have an extra frame included in the beginning of the file rather than keeping within the confines of the in and out point.

I love AME, it's robust and extremely useful, but some of the recent tweaks are making its performace a little clunky. Thanks for looking into this!

Hey guys,

Thanks for looking into this. I'm on a Windows 11 PC, (Ryzen processor, AMD RX 6800 GPU) I'm on build 54 for both premiere and ame. I did a screen recording and was able to re-create the issue on first go with some stock footage. Happy to send you some files! Let me know where I can send a project file, screen recordings and export if you still need it, hope we can figure out why my machine is behaving differently in this work flow!

Thanks again,

Zach

Same here, I wasn't able to reproduce the bug.

@sixsides could you share the media file you were using? A screen recording would also help to see exactly which settings and steps you're following.

Thanks!

We were not able to reproduce your issue. I used Adobe Premiere Pro 24.0.0.58 and Adobe Media Encoder 24.0.0.54 on a macOS 14 (M1 Max) machine for my testing and also tried 9:16 ratio on a 16:9 source sequence. Things looked good.

Thank you very much for your investigations! I will ping our Auto Reframe friends.

Hi! Yes, both premiere and AME are v24.0

I was able to create this problem again starting a new project. I believe the issue revolves around the option for Sequence > Auto-Reframe Sequence. Originally I had a 16x9 sequence that I wanted reframed for a reel (9x16) so I tried this new option and it resulted in stretched pixels on export. (same thing happened when I tried it in a fresh project just now)

I reverted to the way I used to do it -- I manually change my settings from 1920 x 1080 to 1080 x 1920 and scaled my footage up to 180% to fill the frame. This export turns out fine, so my guess it's something about the auto-reframing. (I grabbed a screenshot of the new project settings it created if this will help) I'm happy to share a project file, but it seems like you could try on any clip on your end using auto-reframe sequence and get this result.

Hope this helps and thanks for your time!

Are you using the same versions of PPro and AME? Would you  be able to share the project? I can private message you the instructions in this forum.
