AME encoding Freezes, stays running in background, task manager 'end task' will not close rtx 5090
- Issue - clips sent from PPro, AME encoding begins, freezes at random points during encode, have to force close but app continues to run in background; Task Mgr "end task" does nothing, only shutdown or restart of PC will clear it.
- Media Encoder version - 25.4 build 90
- Operating system - Win11 Pro; 24H2; 26100.4946
- GPU driver version (Windows only) - MSI RTX 5090 Suprim; Studio Driver 580.97; DDU+clean installed 3 times; also reverted to previous driver (577.something), issue persisted
- Video format - Source video is QT (.mov) from PPro, attempting to encode as H264 .mp4 (20 VBR)
- Affects multiple video files, same results described above; began ~ two weeks ago and continues to occur with every encode attempt. PPro successfully encodes exact same video files using exact same settings/encode options.
- Performed Preferences reset within AME, PPro & AE... issue persists
- Completely uninstalled all Adobe apps (including Creative Cloud), did not keep settings when uninstalled; reinstalled all and reattempted using stock Preferences... issue persists
- Deleted all cache folders for all Adobe apps (root folders, not just the files), and attempted using various scratch/cache folders on different drives (all being high-end SSD's)... issue persists
- No plug-ins installed
