Clicking 'Use Maximum Render Quality' resets Output Name

If you set a custom output name in media encoder, and then click the check mark for 'Use Maximum Render Quality', the custom name is reset back to whatever it was originally.

This is particularly unhelpful as the Output Name appears first so if you're going down the list setting all of your output settings, and then check 'Use Maximum Render Quality', you may not realise that the Output Name has been reset.

Thanks for your screen recording!

I just retried with exactly your steps in my German localized AME. And it works exactly like expected. So the question is now: what is the difference between my AME and your AME setup? Do you have any additional UI tweaking installed? The only difference I am seeing right now is M1 Max vs. M2 Pro.

Another note, same thing happens when adjusting the target/maximum bitrate I've just realised.

Here's a video showing that any time I hit a checkbox, the name is reset. I didn't realise but it looks like multiple checkboxes (or perhaps all) are causing this issue for me.

I was not able to repro your issue. I dragged a file into the queue. Changed the target file name. In export presets, changed to "Maximum render size". Media Encoder 24.0.49 on macOS Sonoma 14.4.1 (MacBook Pro 2021 16" with M1 Max). Can you create a screen recording that also shows your preset settings?

I will try to repro your issue…
