Issue with captions and graphics not rendering in Media Encoder

When I export a video directly from Premiere Pro, all captions and text graphics render correctly.

However, when I send the same sequence to Adobe Media Encoder (using batch export), the captions and text elements are missing in the final render.

I’ve already tried:

  • Using different fonts
  • Reinstalling Premiere Pro and Media Encoder
  • Trying different versions of Adobe software

But the issue keeps happening only when exporting via Media Encoder. version: 26.0.2

    @courtyarde48480719,

    This post may get moved by staff to the AME forum. Don’t repost it until they get a shot at it. Thanks for the detailed report and including screenshots. See this other report:

    @JarridStabel,

    Sorry you did not get a response on this. I am still on PR 26.0.1, which means AME 26.0.0. I exported simple H.264 with a caption track set to burn in, and it worked in preview and export.

    What OS? Which other versions did you try?

    I see another post on this, that I suspect will get moved here:

    I am running MacOS Tahoe 26.3.1 on an Apple M4 Max, and Premiere Pro (+ Media Encoder) 26.0.2.

    When sending any sequence from Premiere Pro to Media Encoder, the text and/or captions do not appear in the Media Encoder preview or the final file.

    I have recreated the issue using a range of export presets/formats, a variety of the standard sequence settings and various fonts. The issue happens every time.

    It has occurred when using the absolute simplest sequence possible: new project, saved on desktop, new default sequence, a single graphic layer featuring the default ‘New Text Layer’ text & font, but when viewing the preview in Media Encoder, it features nothing but black.

    The issue does not occur when exporting from Premiere Pro.

    I was told to repost this here on the Premiere forum. Original post below:

    Hi @courtyarde48480719,
    As Stan suggested, I did merge this into a thread with the same issue, as it makes tracking/ replying much easier.  I’m sorry you haven’t received a reply from anyone at Adobe yet.  In the AME image, you show only the video tab - what is selected under the captions tab?

    I wasn’t able to reproduce this, running a quick test in either 26.0.2 or 26.3.0 public Beta. @JarridStabel are you also on a Mac?  Can you share your system specs and any reproducible steps?  Is it just on batch export?

    Please see: How do I report a Problem?  Sorry for the frustration, and thanks for reaching out.
