Issue with Russian File Names Being Truncated in Adobe Media Encoder

Dear Adobe Support,

I am encountering an issue with Adobe Media Encoder when uploading videos to YouTube. Specifically, the titles of my video files in Russian are being truncated to 54-55 characters, whereas titles in Romanian\English are not being shortened and can exceed this limit significantly.

This discrepancy is causing problems with the accurate representation of my content on YouTube. Here are the details of my setup and the issue:

  • Software: Adobe Media Encoder 25.0 (54)
  • Platform: YouTube
  • Issue: Russian file names are truncated to 53 characters upon upload, whereas Romanian file names are not truncated and can contain many more characters.

Could you please investigate this issue and provide a solution or workaround? Your assistance in resolving this problem would be greatly appreciated, as it is crucial for the proper titling of my videos.

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

This might be due to the fact that the Russian text contains multibyte characters.

Does this also happen in Premiere Pro direct export?
