Media Encoder 2024 freezing during encoding

Within the last month, everytime I begin encoding a video from premiere it will pause at the 1 or 2 second mark. There will be no adjustment of estimated time or any other indication that the encoding process is progressing. I was first having the issue when I would upload directly to the Frame.io window. Although, I have the same issue even if I go to media encoder directly from premiere's export window. There is nothing unique about the video I am trying to export as far as I can tell. I don't know if it has anything to do with a different motion graphic template I haven't used on a video before that might be slowing the process but I can't imagine it is so complex that it makes the encoding hault completely. I'd say I am a novice when it comes to the more nuanced settings of media encoder and I have never manipulated any settings beyond what the default or recommended settings are. If anyone could shed light on this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

The team is looking into your issue. Is there any reason why you disabled the native import?

I guess this cannot be repro'd without the media.

Both of us on MacARM. Thank you -- that would be great, if you would be able to test without our media. I will look out for a private message.

Is this on MacARM or Intel? Would you be able to share a project for us to look into the issue? I can send you the instructions via private message in this forum.

My team member and I have encountered this issue on and off. Currently, ME freezes when we try to export with our ProRes preset (422 Proxy), though previously this export preset has worked without issue. The same ProRes setting with an image overlay, however, exports fine. (And other export settings, like H264, are also working.)

The issue is not specific to a sequence or project -- the ProRes export progress freezes even when I try to export a single clip with no effects, graphics, markers, or sound. We tried building the ProRes 422 Proxy setting from scratch - did not fix the issue. We have "read sequences natively" unchecked.

ME freezes after reading XMP. The progress bar, Elapsed and Remaining times do not update, and the exported file contins only a few frames even after waiting approx 10 minutes. Usually we are able to export a ProRes 422 of a 2-hour sequence within 5 minutes.

I am also able to export the ProRes 422 (w/ same settings) straight out of Premiere -- though it took a few attempts.

Using public release of Premiere v24.5.0 (Build 57). My team member has same problem on Beta release.

macOS v14.7, RAM: 64 GB

I am sorry about your issue. Does the direct export still work fine? Can you share the project and media for us to look into the issue? I can private message you with the instructions in this forum.
